Historic Women’s Walk

This walk looks at the power of women and their influence on the city. It pays tribute to some of Mechelen's foremost women, from the highest ranks to the lowest, from the distant past through to the present day. Among other things, you will visit Margaret of Austria's palace and what are now the law courts, and you will have an outside view of Margaret of York's palace, which now houses the municipal theatre.As of October 1st 2018, the garden of Margaret of Austria’s Palace is open every weekday between 7.30 and 16.15 hrs. On Saturdays you can visit the garden between 8.30 and 15.30. The garden is closed on Sundays.From April 13th 2019 and throughout the summer months, the garden is open to visitors until 18.00 hrs on Saturdays.
